Before calling about an animal, please visit the “Help! I found an animal” link at the top of the page and read about the animal.
If you decide you need to contact us about the animal, please call our hotline. Please do not email us or contact us through social media.
DAYTIME: Our all-volunteer, home-based wildlife rehabilitators answer the hotline between 8 am – 8 pm, Monday through Sunday. The hotline number is (512) 897-0806.
NIGHTTIME: If you have found a wild animal that requires immediate medical attention, you can take the animal to the 24-hour emergency veterinary clinic:
Emergency Animal Hospital of Northwest Austin
12034 Research Blvd. #8
Austin, TX 78759
There is no charge for dropping off an injured wild animal at the clinic. The clinic veterinarians will treat the injury and turn the animal over to a permitted wildlife rehabilitator the next day. The veterinarians are also available to euthanize critically injured and severely suffering animals.
If the animal can wait until the next day without emergency medical attention, keep it in a kennel or box with a shallow dish of water in a quiet place, away from pets and children, and call ATW after 8 am the next morning.
If you need to contact us regarding a matter other than a found animal, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
