Location: 300 Havelka Road, Georgetown, TX 78626
Schedule: Full-time, flexible schedule with evening and weekend availability required
Travel: Regular local travel for events, educational programs, and community partnerships

Mission

The mission of All Things Wild Rehabilitation is to

  • Promote respect and compassion for all wildlife through public education and awareness.
  • Rescue and rehabilitate sick, injured, orphaned, and displaced wildlife and release them back into the appropriate habitat.
  • Provide sanctuary for all animals in need

Position Overview

The Executive Director (ED) of All Things Wild Rehabilitation is the primary leader and administrator of the organization, responsible for the day-to-day operations, strategic vision, and overall management. The ED will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers to advance the organization’s mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing native wildlife while promoting education and wildlife conservation.

Primary Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Education Programs

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute public events, including Georgetown Market Days, Georgetown Christmas Stroll, Meet and Greet at Rentsch Brewery, and other community outreach efforts.
  • Oversee the education programs, including off-site presentations, on-site Learning About Wildlife programs, and other educational activities
  • When funds are available and with Board approval, hire and supervise an Education Manager to oversee the education program
  • Ensure education remains a top priority by developing partnerships with schools, businesses, and community organizations.

Marketing & Public Relations

  • Manage the organization’s public presence through:
    • Website updates
    • Social media platforms
    • Monthly newsletters
    • Print and broadcast media

  • Manage the All Things Wild email account, responding to donor inquiries, volunteer applications, and general questions.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to promote All Things Wild’s mission and activities.

Fundraising & Development

  • Lead the organization’s fundraising efforts in coordination with the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee merchandise ordering, inventory, and transportation to fundraising events.
  • Organize annual fundraising events and capital campaigns for board-approved improvements.
  • Research, write, and submit grant applications; oversee grant reporting and management throughout the grant cycle.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Have the ability and presence to ask for money.

Operations & Rehabilitation Oversight

  • Supervise the Rehabilitation Manager and oversee the wildlife rehabilitation program, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Ensure animal welfare, ethical practices, and professional behavior in all aspects of the rehabilitation effort.

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Work with the President and Treasurer to prepare and monitor the annual budget.
  • Approve organizational purchases within budget guidelines and seek board approval for expenses exceeding [amount to be determined].
  • Purchase supplies needed for daily operations while maintaining cost-conscious spending.

Leadership & Personnel Management

  • Serve as the personnel manager for all staff and volunteers.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and performance feedback to staff and volunteers.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and positive organizational culture.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a leadership role (director level or higher)
  • Experience managing staff and volunteers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google Drive and other office software
  • Public speaking experience

Preferred

  • Experience working with a Board of Directors
  • Knowledge of or curiosity about wildlife rehabilitation
  • Grant writing and management experience
  • Familiarity with donor management systems or financial software

Compensation

  • $48,000 to $52,000 based on experience
  • Paid time off and holidays
